Xiaomi 15 Series Model Number And Codename Revealed

Xiaomi has been working on the Xiaomi 15 series for a long time and is expected to hit the Chinese market soon. Recently, a new leak revealed new information about the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, while the device’s camera island design and colour options were also leaked earlier.

Xiaomi is expected to launch handsets equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 this year. The Xiaomi 15 series may come with a new camera island design with a square camera module in the top-left corner, but not much confirmation has been found about the camera of this device. Apart from this, this series can come in four colour options: Black, White, and Bright Silver.

On the other hand, as per a new leak, Xiaomi has used a new codename for the numbered series. The Xiaomi 15 Pro is codenamed “Haotian” and the Xiaomi 15’s codenamed “Dada”. The Xiaomi 15 (O3—short codename, 24129PN74C) and the Xiaomi 15 Pro (O2—short codename, 24101PNB7C) are upcoming devices for the Chinese market. These models—Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro—are expected to be available globally soon.

Notably, this upcoming series from Xiaomi may use HyperOS 2.0 for software. Due to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the device will likely be launched in the first half of 2025. This series is expected to be thinner and lighter than the older model. The Xiaomi 15 could be compact with a flat display, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro could be launched with a quad-curved screen.

To protect this series, Xiaomi can protect it with Dragon Crystal Glass, which comes with IP69-rated dust and water resistance. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 models can come with a 4800 mAh or 4900 mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. At the same time, the Pro model can have a 5400 mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 80W wireless charging.

According to another report, the Xiaomi 15 Pro model would have OmniVision OV50K, a 50 MP primary sensor that supports a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/2.5. The Xiaomi 15 model can also have a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 50 MP Sony IMX8 series periscope telephoto camera with zoom, but the brand has not confirmed these features.
