Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 series last year and introduced its new upcoming HyperOS in 2023, which brings countless features. This update has replaced MIUI, which was present in smartphones for a long time.
HyperOS 2.0 to detect hidden cameras
Now, the Chinese company is speculated to be developing its next-generation HyperOS 2.0 on Android devices. According to a report, another feature in the upcoming HyperOS 2.0 is the ability to detect hidden cameras, which could also solve a significant privacy issue frequent travellers face.
According to XiaomiTime, the HyperOS 2.0 update may help detect hidden cameras through wireless local area network search. The devices will also be able to find and identify nearby hidden cameras using WLAN signals. This new feature may also be called “Camera Scan”.
The user interface confirms it “detects hidden cameras to protect your privacy and personal safety.” This feature is speculated to address the privacy concerns of avid travellers by alerting them about threats that may be tracking them.
This new feature is similar to a Python-based program called Ingram and is available on GitHub. It may screen IP addresses to detect webcam vulnerabilities. This “Camera Scan” feature will arrive with the HyperOS 2.0 update for Xiaomi devices in October this year.
This new OS is also expected to improve device performance and interconnectivity and come with more customization options. Other devices like the Poco F4, Poco M4 Pro, Poco C65, Poco M6 and Poco X6 Neo may get this new update.
